Open Day at the Vienna Boys' Choir and MuTh
The Vienna Boys’ Choir invite you to our traditional Open Day. This year features musical games and “music posts”, with the theme of “Backstage on Tour” – since, for the Choir, concert tours are part of the school curriculum. The Open Day is especially aimed at boys who would like to try on the sailor suit for once themselves, children who want to take a look around the musical primary school, and youngsters who are interested in the High School Senior Class, with its focus on singing.
Visitors will enjoy a widely varied programme over this three and a half hours. A sort of musical paper chase will take place around the “music posts”, with singing, listening, and clapping – high and low, loud and soft – but always with feeling. Gerald Wirth, head of the Choir, will explain just what you can do with your voice, and those who so wish can take to the stage alongside the Boys’ Choir or take part in a Children’s Opera Workshop.
There will be tours of the building and grounds for all those interested. Teachers, staff, Senior Class students and boy choristers will be available to chat and provide information about the Vienna Boys’ Choir, including the training provided and their own personal experiences.
