Practice makes perfect - in music as well as sport. You try something out, repeat it, tweak it – and discover something new in the process. That is exactly what this concert is all about. A cellist and a violinist bring instruments, movement and training equipment onto the stage. The concert hall becomes a space for play and practice, where sounds grow, repeat and transform. Here, music can be loud, soft, slow, fast – and even a little intense. With countless repetitions, loops and exciting sound ideas, this piece demonstrates how contemporary music is created. The audience is invited to listen, join in and experience how music and movement go hand in hand – and just how much fun it can be to discover something new, one step at a time.

Can a river make music? In this hosted concert, the Danube becomes an adventure in sound. Together we discover how water sounds, rushes, and swirls – and how these sounds can become music. The composer Pia Palme brings the Danube right onto the stage through videos, recordings of the natural world, and a particular selection of instruments. The river “plays” along; voices sing, we hear the sound of a cello, and suddenly the concert hall feels like an underwater world. Ranging from calm, mysterious sounds to lively, cheerful songs by Meredith Monk, this concert is all about listening closely, enjoying a state of wonder, and thinking about issues such as: Who lives in the river? Why is water so important? And how can music and nature belong together? A concert for listening, feeling, and discovering

Wie klingt Recycling?Kann eine Plastikflasche Musik machen?Und was passiert, wenn man mit einem Aktenkoffer oder Kochlöffeln spielt?In diesem Konzert entdecken Kinder, dass Musik überall steckt – sogar in Dingen, die man sonst wegwirft. Zusammen mit Klavier und Vibraphon werden Alltagsgegenstände zu Instrumenten: Es wird geklopft, geklatscht, gerührt und ausprobiert. Manche Stücke bestehen aus Rhythmen, andere aus leisen Klängen, manche sind lustig, andere ganz ruhig.Die Musiker:innen zeigen, wie aus alten Sachen neue Musik entsteht – und warum Wiederverwenden nicht nur gut für die Umwelt, sondern auch richtig spannend fürs Ohr ist. Am Ende klingt Recycling ganz anders, als man es erwartet hat. 

Wann beginnt ein Konzert? Erst beim ersten Ton – oder schon, wenn Musiker:innen ihre Instrumente auspacken? In diesem Konzert wird genau das ausprobiert.Vier Musiker:innen aus verschiedenen Ländern spielen zusammen im Chaos String Quartet. Jede:r von ihnen bringt eigene Ideen, Lieblingsklänge und besondere Instrumente mit und spielt nicht nur mit Geige, Bratsche und Cello, sondern auch mit Stimme, Text und einer Gießkanne. Ein echter Brief von Mozart wird zur Musik, eine Viola bekommt ihre eigene Hauptrolle, und ganz alltägliche Dinge werden plötzlich spannend zum Zuhören. Sogar das Tropfen von Wasser wird Teil eines Musikstücks!In einem anderen Werk hört man Klänge aus der Umwelt: Sirenen, Straßenlärm, Naturgeräusche – und sogar einen „Walzer der Heuschrecken“. So zeigt das Konzert, dass Musik überall entstehen kann und dass genaues Hinhören die Welt verändert.Ein neugieriges, witziges Konzert für alle, die entdecken wollen, wie vielseitig Musik sein kann.
