LIEBER EIN SAXOPHON (I PREFER A SAXOPHONE)
Curated by Gerald Preinfalk
The saxophone can do more than wail in a jazz club. But that requires composers like Bernhard Lang and Javier Quislant, who create new compositions. Preinfalk values both of them – and he responds to them as a composer as well.
Many people are familiar with Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”, and many also know Eddie Daniels’ version for clarinet. Stefan Neubauer takes these on and Preinfalk puts himself into the mix as an improviser.
“What could possibly be finer than a saxophone? Lots of saxophones!” That’s why Preinfalk has arranged Gershwin’s “Concerto in F” and written his own material for the “KUG-SAX-SIPPIA” saxophone orchestra .
