The Vienna Boys’ Choir Ball 2019
More than a ball: a feast for all the senses. Spend an exhilarating night at Palais Coburg Residenz!

The splendid State Rooms of Palais Coburg Residenz are opening their doors to host a formal ball for the very first time.

Every year, in collaboration with the Cultural Section of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA) and MuTh, our “singing ambassadors” focus on one country in particular. And the spotlight of our 2019 celebration falls on the land of Japan.

Elke Hesse, the Director of MuTh, has been named “Mother of the Ball” for a fourth time, and entrusted with organising the event. She is also responsible for the evening’s dramatic content, which has been programmed with particular attention to the special opportunities this venue offers.  The Grand Opening, in which the Vienna Boys’ Choir, the Honorary Committee and the Young Persons’ Committee all play their part, will be held in the magnificent State Rooms. The evening continues with music from the Wiener Festensemble, a Japanese dance performance, an exclusive Japanese “Vocaloid” concert held in the medieval Casements, and a Midnight Quadrille in the Foyer.
Before the Ball, guests will have a chance to brush up their dancing skills in a “Waltz Crash Course”. To get in the mood for the Ball, guests can join a Sekt reception or book an exquisite three-course Palais dinner with wine. And for those who want to get to know the Palais Coburg Residenz more intimately, suites are available at special rates. As in previous years, all proceeds go to the Vienna Boys’ Choir Stipendiary Fund.
