Benefit concert for neunerhaus
Orchestra: Sinfonia Academica. Conductor: Azis Sadikovic. Violin: Kirill Maximov / Works by Beethoven and Shostakovich
This is the fifth concert that Sinfonia Academica have performed in aid of neunerhaus.
neunerhaus is a Vienna-based social organisation which aims to provide homeless people and those at risk of poverty with opportunities for self-determination and a decent life. Their aim is to help people to help themselves and to achieve sustained improvements in their living conditions.
For neunerhaus, helping homeless people build a future always means helping them with healthcare provision as well. The organisation offers both medical support and counselling on an anonymous basis, free of charge. The neunerhaus health centre serves around 4,400 people every year – and the numbers are increasing.
The Orchestra, whose players include a number of doctors, supports their social work activities, and all the proceeds go to neunerhaus.
Beethoven: Egmont Overture
Shostakovich: Violin concerto no. 2 in C sharp minor, Op. 129
