Ballet by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky / A “dancearts” Christmas presentation
No real ballet fan can imagine a Christmas without The Nutcracker. So this year dancearts decided that they themselves would tell the wonderful fairy story of Clara and her nutcracker.
In this performance, featuring choreography by Shoko Nejime, children from the age of five appear alongside students from the dancearts ballet school, together with Boris Nebyla and guest dancers from the Wiener Staatsballett. A total of around eighty dancers will fill the stage.
The ballet is based upon “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”, a story by E. T. A. Hoffmann. Tchaikovsky’s famous musical interpretation had its first performance on the 18th December 1892 in Saint Petersburg, with choreography by Lew Ivanov. It has delighted children and adults alike ever since.
Advance sales for the 7 pm performance: Monday, 21st October 2019 – 10 am.
