MOVED ONLINE: Michael Schade & Oliver Stech
In place of "Wien, du Stadt unserer Träume – Schubertiade 2020"
We regret that, in line with Federal Government regulations, we cannot stage “Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume (Vienna, Oh City of my Dreams) – Schubertiade 2020” in front of a live audience. Furthermore, the Vienna Boys’ Choir have had to withdraw from this concert.
However, we are delighted to announce that tenor Michael Schade and pianist Oliver Stech have already declared their intention to create an alternative programme!
This will be performed on the scheduled date at 8pm, via our online streaming service. See
Tickets already purchased will be refunded. You will be contacted and advised of the arrangements for reimbursement by MuTh or our ticketing partner WIEN-TICKET, as applicable.
“Vienna, Oh City of my Dreams” – the Vienna Boys’ Choir return to the MuTh stage in a very special Schubertiade. Together with KS Michael Schade, the Vienna Boys’ Choir has been exploring the work of perhaps the most famous former member of the Choir, Franz Schubert. Now they bring a selection of his finest Lieder settings to the MuTh stage, including pieces for solo voice and pieces for solo voice and choir. Works by Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms complement Schubert’s sound-paintings. The second half of the concert takes on a distinctly Viennese flavour, with music by Johann Strauss, Robert Stolz and Ferry Wunsch. Naturally, the programme also includes Rudolf Sieczynski’s classic, “Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume” — a homage to the city which is not only home to the historic choir, but also the birthplace of Schubert and the adopted home of KS Michael Schade.
An evening amid the dreamlike world of the High Romantic – not to be missed!
Recommended for families with children aged eight and over.
There will not be an interval. Buffet service will be available before and after the event.
