Helen Schneider: Movin‘ On
Songs from her latest CD Movin‘ On
In 1982, US-born singing legend and DIVA award-winner Helen Schneider caused a sensation with her “Rock´n Roll Gypsy” LP. Now, on this her nineteenth album, she presents a personal soundtrack. “Movin‘ On” is, as she puts it, “peppered with life’s experiences”. “The experience of loss, and of looking forward to the future – both are to be found in these wonderful songs. And you can hear the influence of 60s and 70s folk, pop and rock in their songs’ rhythms and feel.” Her twentieth album – tellingly entitled “What if…” – is currently in production.
The Brooklyn-born artist is known for the flexibility and dexterity of her voice. In her personal life she has faced every change of circumstance, good or bad, with courage. Determined to seize every chance that came her way, she has put herself into challenging situations without hesitation. Her bravery in constantly setting her life in a fresh direction is built on her remarkable ability to change and adapt. As well witnessing that unaffected jazz phrasing, the MuTh audience will hear her tell the stories behind the songs, in her charming “Denglisch”.
