Le‘Chaim!
Wiener Klezmer Orchester, Küf Kaufmann and Special Guests

* abgespielt

Klezmer music and readings (in German) from the best-selling novel “Wodka ist immer koscher”. To date, the Wiener Klezmer Orchester is the only large orchestra in the world that dedicates itself exclusively to Jewish music. Under the direction of renowned klezmer authority Sasha Danilov, the orchestra has become a firm fixture in Vienna’s Jewish cultural scene. This MuTh concert, held as part of the 2019 Yiddish Culture Festival of Vienna, features two instrumental virtuosi as special guests: jazz vibraphone player Martin Breinschmid, and panpipe wonder Igor Pilyavskiy.

Küf Kaufmann supplies some amusing and thought-provoking contributions. The director, cabaret artist and author, who is both Chairman of the Leipzig Jewish Community and Director of Ariowitsch-Haus, the Jewish cultural centre, reads from his best-selling novel “Wodka ist immer koscher”.
