Premiere of the latest solo album from Maria Radutu
Maria Radutu brings her new solo album “Phoenix” to the MuTh stage. It consists of twelve emotionally-charged piano pieces, ranging from Chopin to Karlsson. The pianist will play them in sequence, and explain how they each give voice to the concept of transformation. As the music is performed, paintings by the artist Felicia Gulda will be displayed. Each painting was inspired by one of these pieces of music.
“The concert begins with works which speak to our youthful souls — unrestrained and passionate — and it reaches an initial climax with the explosive force of the Mephisto Waltzes”, says Maria Radutu. “Then, out of the ashes, space is created for stylistic fusions and new realms of musical expression.”
Following the concert there will be an opportunity to join Radutu and Gulda (the legendary pianist’s granddaughter) in the MuTh Foyer, where the paintings can be admired at close quarters.
