The vitality of youth: the Beethoven Musikschule’s “Klassik-Rock-Orchester” was founded in 1996 by Dir. MMag. Reinmar Wolf, with the aim of giving young musicians their first opportunity to play the great symphonic literature. Performing together helps to develop artistic and social connections. Previous highlights for the ensemble include their presentation of Mozart’s Magic Flute in 2006, and representing Lower Austria in the European Youth Music Festival of 2009. Celebrating “200 years of Beethoven in Mödling”, the youth orchestra – comprised of musicians with an average age of just 16 – plays excerpts from the composer’s most famous symphonies, alongside pieces from musicals and films.
