Kosho plays guitar in the band “Söhne Mannheims” (Sons of Mannheim), and has a voice with a brittle, moving quality. Augustin Wiedemann is an internationally renowned concert guitarist, and together they are trying to reach a genuine musical confluence. We hear a blend of styles and a range of periods: Renaissance songs by John Dowland played on cajón and bottleneck guitar; a prelude from Bach’s “Well-tempered clavier” melds into a song by Kosho; and the Thelonious Monk jazz standard “Well you needn’t” becomes a rap piece, accompanied by two concert guitars.
