Bach at MuTh
Bach arias with Bibiana Nwobilo / the Vienna Young Philharmonic Directed by: Michael Lessky

* abgespielt

An evening for listening.
Let Bach’s powerful, reflective music work its wonder. Listen to the lightness and simplicity of the music of Arvo Pärt, and sink into its sublime serenity. Bibiana Nwobilo sings arias from Bach’s great Passions. The soprano was last heard performing the title role in “Porgy and Bess” under Nikolaus Harnoncourt. The Vienna Young Philharmonic contrasts Bach’s Double Concerto for two violins and orchestra with a work by Arvo Pärt for the same instrumentation. An evening for drifting off and floating away.
“Bach at MuTh” ends with “Welt, ade, ich will nach dem Himmel zu” (“Oh World adieu, I want to rise to Heaven”).

Arias from the Passions and the Cantata; Double Concerto for two Violins and Orchestra in D minor.
