Only nineteen years old, she has been described in the press as “an exceptional talent”, “a violin powerhouse” and the “new star of the violin”. Yet Christina Brabetz’s unusual career began just two years ago when she took first prize at the “TONALI Grand Prix” in Hamburg, impressing the international jury with her brilliant interpretation of Henri Wieniawski’s First Violin Concerto. Born in Namibia to parents of German extraction,  the young musician completed her initial schooling in Cape Town, South Africa. Then at the age of 13 she switched to the Detmold Musical High School, studying under Thomas Christian. SInce winning in Hamburg, she has been on track to join the international elite.
