Der Trommler (The Drummer – in German)
Children’s opera by Martin Brandlmayr, based on a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm / A Wiener Taschenoper production

* abgespielt

“Whatever I want to do, I can do it!” – On the shore of a lake, the drummer finds a small piece of cloth and puts it away. But this is from the dress of a princess, who is being held captive on a glass mountain. He vows to set her free. But on the way there is a dark wood, where there lives a giant, and an evil witch, who sets him some seemingly insurmountable tasks. But what is true in real life also holds good in fairy tales: even when you feel small and helpless – you must believe!
