Ein Ständchen für Clara – (Serenade for Clara) – celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Clara Schumann
Next Generation in the MuTh

* abgespielt

As the bicentenary of Clara Schumann’s birth comes round in September 2019, it’s only natural to celebrate with music! A group of talented young musicians, who got to know each other here in Vienna at Musikgymnasium Wien, come together for this very purpose. They perform not only works by Clara and Robert Schumann, but also compositions by close friends of the famous couple. As part of this special birthday serenade, Ulrich Manafi, Maxim Tzekov, Theresa Strasser and Lukas Sternath have found a selection of texts which reveal just what Clara and Robert felt for each other. And Clara Schumann spoke for them both when she said: “The practice of my art is an essential part of my self. It is the very air which I breathe.”
