A Vienna Young Philharmonic/ MuTh production With soloists from the Academy of La Scala, Milan Coro del Friuli Venezia Giulia Vienna Young Philharmonic Milan was not only Verdi’s city, it was also Mozart’s. And a sinfonia in C by the young Verdi, which has probably never been performed in Austria before, will demonstrate the closeness which initially existed between these two giants of musical theatre and the music of the church. With its closing “Libera me”, which Verdi later made famous in his Requiem, this concertante vespers has a contemplative, comforting quality. In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Vienna.
