Harri Stojka Express
Instrumental Jazz-Rock

* abgespielt

Back in the 1970s and 80s, when Harri Stojka had formed his first band, the Harri Stojka Express, he was active mostly on the jazz-rock scene. And now the genre is once again the focus of his interest. In 2017 ACTION BRONSON sampled Harri’s song “How much I love you” (now TANK), which dates back to this period. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Harri’s second home was the Camera Obscura Club. This club was not only the place to be seen; it was a meeting point for all the finest musicians. This is where Harri found the inspiration for his compositions. The latest, best and hippest music of the time was always to be heard at the Camera. Harri formed his legendary EXPRESS right there in the Club.

In October 2017, to celebrate his 60th birthday, Harri Stojka played a sell-out concert in the Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus, a musical retrospective that included his “Express” songs. The event brought him, his band and the audience so much pleasure that he decided to form an EXRESS reunion band. Now, in early 2019, Harri Stojka has released a new album, “Psycho guitar” – jazz-rock played with rhythmic freedom, combining complex harmonies and blistering tempi. The music features lengthy improvisations on formally arranged sections, along with crazy solos, rooted in 12-note composition, all unleashed from his legendary 1969 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop.
