Innehalten (Pause for Reflection) – “Despair” – Benefit concert organised by the Wien Albertina Rotary Club
Spiritual music from different cultures Vienna Boys' Choir/ Toni Innauer

* abgespielt

In the final Innehalten (A Moment’s Pause) concert in the current season, the Vienna Boys’ Choir, together with Olympic champion and author Toni Innauer, address the theme of “despair”, and get right to the heart of the matter. Schubert’s Mass No. 3 in B-flat major forms the occasion’s centrepiece.

The Vienna Boys’ Choir has been singing motets and masses in the city’s Hofburgkapelle for over 500 years. Their repertoire ranges from the Middle Ages to the modern, and reflects the musical history of Western civilisation. But spiritual music is not confined to Christianity alone; and in this series of concerts, the Choir also offer a taste of spiritual music from other cultures.
