Klavierquintett Wien (the Vienna Piano Quintet)
Josef Nowakowsky / Franz Schubert

* abgespielt

Formed in 1984 as “Ensemble 5 Wien”, the group comprises Vienna-trained pianist Yoko Fog-Urata; French violin virtuoso Remy Ballot; and three string players from the Vienna Philharmonic, namely Robert Bauerstatter (viola), Jörgen Fog (cello) and Jurek Dybal (double bass).

As well as the traditional repertoire, Klavierquintett Wien also plays works by relatively little-known composers from the Classical and Romantic periods. They have recorded two quintets by J. N. Hummel, as well as a quartet and a quintet by Ferdinand Ries, for the CAMERATA TOKYO label. The ensemble has given concerts in Austria, France, Italy and Denmark, and they perform in Japan every year.
