Wiener Glasharmonika Duo

Kulturmittag (Arts at Lunchtime): The scent of glass
Vienna glass armonica duo

* abgespielt

The Vienna glass armonica duo has given many a concert in countless corners of the world. Christa Schönfeldinger on the glass armonica and Gerald Schönfeldinger on the verrophone never fail to enrapture and astonish, whether playing in the Royal Albert Hall London, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Suntory Hall Tokyo, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, or here in the MuTh.

The glass armonica produces sounds by means of glass bowls, while the verrophone uses glass tubes. Once the music starts, the listener can sit back and enjoy listening to a highly unusual range of sounds.

The duo’s current concert programme, entitled “The scent of glass”, includes Mozart’s original composition for solo glass armonica as well as works by Robert Schumann, Henryk Wieniawski, Edward Grieg and Arvo Pärt.

There will be no interval during this production. The buffet will be available before the production starts and after it ends.
