Masterpieces for clarinet and bassoon
Spotlight on the clarinet / Daniel Ottensamer in the MuTh

The combination of bassoon and clarinet has a charm all of its own! Daniel Ottensamer and his colleague Sophie Dervaux explore this together. The French musician is principal bassoonist with the Vienna Philharmonic. At one time she also played guitar and clarinet. With Christoph Traxler joining them at the piano, they play Michail Glinka’s “Trio pathétique”, a compact piece in four movements. The “father of Russian music”, as Glinka came to be known, found his inspiration for this composition while visiting La Scala in Milan.
