Mozart — the show-off
A portrait of the composer W.A. Mozart by the Vienna Boys' Choir

* abgespielt

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed countless musical hits. He was a child prodigy, and the rock star of his day. Mozart set himself above the musical conventions of his time; he played with the rules, he provoked his peers, he laughed and he shone like a bright light, both in his music and in his life. His music is pure emotion.

Helped by the Vienna Boys’ Choir and their own contributions, Swiss director Hanspeter Horner portrays Mozart in a series of miniatures, with a wealth of music ranging from the Ave Verum to the Magic Flute. The dramatic arc stretches from the past into the future, where Mozart continues to be celebrated — Mozart the supernova, a star which, at its demise, briefly shines with the bright intensity of an entire galaxy.
