Steude Quartet & Minetti Quartet in the MuTh

A feast of fiddlers: MuTh brings together two highly popular ensembles, namely the Steude Quartet and the Minetti Quartet, for an evening of top-class chamber music. With the two sets of musicians playing together, the concert starts with Russian music from the High Romantic. They then perform Mendelssohn’s virtuosic yet playful Opus 20 Octet, a work that radiates joy and a passion for life. “It’s one of the strongest pieces he ever wrote” is how Volkhard Steude describes this wonderfully life-affirming piece of music, which Mendelssohn composed at just 16 years of age.
