Passion and courage
Spotlight on the clarinet / Matthias Schorn in the MuTh

Matthias Schorn (clarinet) and Christoph Gigler (tuba), together with students from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), take to the stage with a  contemporary Passion, scored for tuba, clarinet and string quartet. The piece was composed by jazz musician Gerd Hermann Ortler, who hails from South Tyrol. The art projections being shown alongside the music were created by Gottfried Helnwein. Following Ortler’s “Passion”, the Vienna Philharmonic’s two principal wind players perform as a duo. Summoning all their courage, and with some wry humour thrown in, they take a gamble and play whatever takes their fancy! Music for everybody!
