Pilgerfahrt zu Beethoven III
Florian Krumpöck in the MuTh

* abgespielt

Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in A flat major is best known for its moving funeral march “über den Tod eines Helden”. It provides a foretaste of the even better-known funeral march from the “Eroica”, which Beethoven composed one year later. The second movement from the Piano Sonata in D major, often known as the “Pastoral”, was one of Beethoven’s absolute favourite movements; he performed it frequently and with enthusiasm. To illuminate what was important to Beethoven and what moved the great composer, Romy Award-winner Gerti Drassl and Viennese actor Daniel Keberle read a short selection of texts and letters written by and about Beethoven.
