Works from Schubert to Rachmaninov

* abgespielt

MuTh proudly presents Erika Baikoff, the winner of this year’s international Helmut Deutsch Lieder competition, with songs by Schubert, Strauss, Korngold, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.
The Russian-American soprano is joined this evening by Helmut Deutsch, one of the best-loved Lieder accompanists of our time.

Great singers all demonstrate an exceptional technique, along with a particular form of intonation and vocal quality; but in addition to this, they all have an aura, an energetic intensity.

Erika Baikoff, who was born in 1994, has already won multiple awards. This year she is in her second season as a member of the ensemble at the Opéra National de Lyon.

The programme includes:
Suleika I, D 720 and Suleika II, D 717 (Schubert); Mädchenblumen, Op. 22 (Strauss); Welt ist stille eingeschlafen, Op. 22 no. 3 (Korngold); Kabi snala ja / Wenn ich es nur besser gewusst hätte, Op. 47 no. 1, (Tchaikovsky); Krisolov / Rattenfänger (Bryusov) Op. 38 No. 4 (Rachmaninov); and numerous other pieces
