Schubert Lieder: old meets new
The Erlkings in the MuTh

* abgespielt

The Erlkönig and Heidenröslein are widely recognised as two of the finest examples of the Lieder form. This is skilfully restated in this concert by the multi-award winning baritone Johannes Held and pianist Daniel Beskow. That Schubert’s Lieder can still display their true magnificence when performed in the style of pops songs, in English, using a line-up of guitar, cello, tuba and drums, is demonstrated by The Erlkings. Now a word-for-word comparison can be enjoyed on the MuTh stage, as the originals are performed alongside the Erlkings’ inimitable versions.
