The Vienna Boys’ Choir Ball
Kursalon Hübner, Johannesgasse 33, 1010 Vienna

The Vienna Boys’ Choir has a history that goes back over 500 years. We are an international organisation with our roots in Vienna. The music of the Strauss family, which was
written for the great balls of court, is one of our greatest strengths. These balls were intended as celebrations, as opportunities to provide the guests with a night to remember, and for people to come together to collect money for good causes. We aim to celebrate the annual Vienna Boys’ Choir Ball in the same spirit and tradition. Working in collaboration with Kursalon Hübner and the Cultural Section of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA), each year our “singing ambassadors” provide a voice for one country in particular. Since 2017 marks the centenary of the arrival of Habsburg Archduchess Maria Leopoldine in Brazil, we are delighted to make this marvellous country the centrepiece of next year’s Ball. The Ball will be held on 27th January 2017 in the glorious surroundings of Kursalon Hübner. Naturally, the Ball will open with singing by the Vienna Boys’ Choir. Before that we will be offering a “crash course” in Samba, and the Ball evening itself will include several other highlights . Of course, the music of Brazil and Austria will form the centrepiece of this Ball of Balls – and we can be sure that the music will be of superb quality, thanks to the young gentlemen of the Vienna Boys’ Choir.

An evening of waltzes? Not just that. Plenty of Samba too!
