Trio Van Beethoven
All Beethoven’s works for piano trio

* abgespielt

TrioVanBeethoven pays homage to the composer whose name they bear. Over the course of three concerts, the renowned Austrian piano trio will perform all Beethoven’s works for this traditional instrumentation. Their intensive focus on Beethoven’s oeuvre has also led to a full recording with Gramola, which will be available in early 2017. To some extent, this cycle is a live performance of this record! The piano trio format plays a central role in Beethoven’s compositional output. He first entered the stage as a composer with the three trios of Opus 1. This represented a real challenge to Haydn, until then the recognised master of the form. And when Beethoven premiered his “Archduke” trio, it marked his last-ever public piano performance!
