Franz Schubert / Luciano Berio: 10th symphony in D major, D936A / “Rendering”
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Concerto for piano and orchestra no.1 in B flat minor, Op. 23
Schubert: Ellens Gesang I, II, III; Katrin Targo, soprano
Three movements and the majority of the instrumentation remain from Franz Schubert’s final symphony. In it, he explored routes which led down hidden pathways and crossed rocky, snow-covered heights – routes to which no-one has ever returned.

In the second part of the evening, we are pleased to introduce a brilliant young pianist to play the best-known of all piano concertos: Anna Volovitch, who has won prizes at the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, the Cleveland International Piano Competition and the Queen Elizabeth International Piano Competition.
Tickets: €36/28/20; box seats €42; children and young people €20/15/9

  • Piano: Anna Volovitch
  • Conductor: Michael Lessky
