Violin sonatas from Beethoven to Billy Joel

* abgespielt

Appearing alongside the exceptional musician Hyung-ki Joo, whose achievements include developing the “Karate Piano” style of playing, Johannes Fleischmann presents music by composers ranging from Ludwig van Beethoven to Billy Joel. The concert opens with Brahms “Regenlied” sonata, a piece that conveys an impression of closeness and tenderness which perfectly fits the intimate atmosphere of MuTh. Debussy floats the audience on a musical cloud, and Uri Brener’s modern version of Ravel’s passionate “Tzigane” bestrides the barriers of genre. This evening of diverse music takes on a very personal note with “Lullaby for Leo”, a marvellous piece which Hyung-ki Joo wrote for his son.

Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata for piano and violin in A minor, Op. 23
Johannes Brahms: Sonata for violin and piano in G major Op. 78
Claude Debussy: Sonata for violin and piano in G minor

Billy Joel: Air Dublinesque
Hyung-ki Joo: Lullaby for Leo
