THE OTHER WAY AROUND
Classic ballads from the Great American Song Book | mathias rüegg
Jazz | Lieder & singing | Concert | Adults
The finest ballads from the Great American Song Book – but transcribed as if for the classical Lied format, to be played by a classical pianist. An unusual project, showing yet another facet of matthias rüegg’s creative work. These challenging adaptations are interpreted by the pianist Ladislav Fančovič, who is equally at home in the classical world and the world of jazz, and the baritone Matus Uhliarik. And incidentally – Fančovič is also a skilful saxophonist, and Uhliarik is no slouch at the keyboard.
Prior to that, the thirteen-year old Viennese pianist Soley Blümel gives the premiere performance of seven bagatelles composed for her by matthias rüegg.
