8th INTERNATIONAL JOSEPH HAYDN CHAMBER MUSIC COMPETITION

The International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition is now a firm fixture on the international music scene, and is currently in its eighth iteration. This evening the competition brings to the stage a selection of the finest upcoming piano trios and string quartets from the mdw – the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. The competition was first held in 2001. Since then it has staked its place among the foremost global events of its kind, underlining the leading international role played by the mdw’s Joseph Haydn Institute for Chamber Music and New Music. Here at MuTh the winning ensembles perform works by composers from Haydn to the modern day.
