ALL ABOUT EVE – THE MODERN AGE
A cosmopolitan evening about women composers and their stories
Chamber music | Classic | Concert | Adults
Pianist Maria Radutu and violinist Sophie Heinrich bring great women composers into the spotlight through music and commentary. The result is a series of vivid portraits of modern female musicians from a wide range of cultures. The evening offers a broad sweep of sounds, encompassing Olga Neuwirth’s pulsating soundspaces, Kaija Saariaho’s floating, nocturnal colours, the glowing warmth of music by Florence Price, and Eleanor Alberga’s poetic, transcultural lullaby. A new work by Margareta Ferek-Petric and the lyrical avant-garde sounds of Du Yun lead to the closing piece, the powerful Sonata No. 4 by Grażyna Bacewicz.
