The Orchestra of the Vienna University of Technology is organising this benefit concert under the direction of Črt Lasbaher in aid of the cystic fibrosis charity Cystische Fibrose (Mukoviszidose) Hilfe Wien, NÖ, N-Bgld. The concert is being staged under the patronage of Burgtheater actor Michael Maertens, whose sister Miriam Maertens suffers from cystic fibrosis.
The programme includes Rossini’s overture to La Cenerentola and Brahms’ Third Symphony, as well as two solo concertos featuring up-and-coming young performers – the first movement of Schumann’s Piano Concerto, performed by 16-year-old soloist Cleo Enev, who also has cystic fibrosis, and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with 18-year-old soloist Leonhard Baumgartner.
