BIG BAND SOUND AT MuTh

The International Rotary Big Band make their Vienna debut. Led by  Mannheim jazz trumpeter Thomas Siffling, and aided by the renowned singer Stella Jones , they bring the big band sound of the 1940s and 1950s – as epitomised in the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Michel Camilo and Sammy Nestico – to the MuTh stage. This is music-making for a social purpose. Proceeds from this Benefit Matinee will go to End Polio Now, Rotary International’s signature project, whose aim is the global eradication of polio.

This Benefit Matinee concert is presented by Rotary District 1910, which has around 5,700 members, and is overseen by Rotary District Governor Dr Sabine Unterweger.

Rotary International is the world’s oldest service club. With a total of 1.2 million members, it offers a global network for social engagement. The Rotarian principle of “Service above self” defines an ideal foundation to underpin the professional and business lives of its members. The first Rotary Clubs in Austria were formed in 1925.
