BLUMEN AUS DEM ORIENT (FLOWERS FROM THE ORIENT)
The magic of old songs
World Music | Lieder & singing | Concert | Adults
Centuries ago, Jewish communities settled across the Arab countries of the Mediterranean, yet their rich traditions and music remain largely unfamiliar in Europe. Timna Brauer’s mother, an Israeli of Yemeni descent, passed this vibrant cultural heritage on to her through stories, songs and dance. Flowers from the Orient breathes new life into a forgotten legacy. Timeless gems from the Jewish musical traditions of ancient Spain and the Middle East reveal their enchanting beauty – celebrating unity and shared heritage as Timna Brauer is joined by Greek guitarist and bouzouki player Jannis Raptis and Palestinian oud virtuoso Marwan Abado.
