DIE GUTEN (THE GOOD GUYS)

At the time this concert was being planned, a volatile American president was in the process of upending the country. As observers, we are torn – after all, he came to power through a democratic process. And yet, one cannot help but feel deep empathy for those now forced to fear for their livelihoods.

We will therefore continue to strengthen our many ties with the “good guys” across the Atlantic. We begin 2026 by welcoming two guests from New York and by continuing our collaboration with saxophonist and composer Ingrid Laubrock, who is deservedly acclaimed around the world. Her work Zones 1+2, composed for us in 2023, will be expanded with a new piece, recorded, and given its première – performed together with one of today’s most sought-after percussionists, Tom Rainey.
