The International Competition for Young Composers (ICYC) is initiated and organised jointly with the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing (CCOM), Universal Edition Wien (UE) and the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The competition takes place biannually, alternating between chamber music and orchestral music composition. The competition aims to provide young composers from all over the world with a stage on which to showcase their talent, thereby strengthening academic and cultural exchange and promoting the formation of a community.
The competition for chamber music composition is taking place in 2025. After rigorous evaluation and committed work by the judgin panel, including Qin Wenchen, Michael Jarrell, Konstantia Gourzi, Hao Weiya and Victoria Borisova-Ollas, six works were selected to proceed to the final round.
