GEORDNETES CHAOS (ORGANISED CHAOS)
Masterpieces in disarray | Chaos String Quartet
Chamber music | New music | Concert | Adults
Joseph Haydn skilfully encapsulated “the idea of chaos” in his masterpiece “Schöpfung” (The Creation). In contrast, Jean-Fery Rebel unleashes a tumultuous energy within the baroque primordial soup. Yet, God graciously brought forth light, water, air and earth, paving the way for humanity’s arrival. Alongside this emergence was Johann Sebastian Bach, who also worked wonders through the organizing principle of the fugue. Ludwig van Beethoven demonstrated how to intertwine freedom with rigour, chaos with order, in his “Grosse Fuge.” This concert creation blends Ligeti, Schnittke and improvisation, playfully engaging with all the elements.
JOSEPH HAYDN Vorstellung des Chaos, aus: „Die Schöpfung“, J.S. BACH aus „Die Kunst der Fuge“, JEAN-FERY REBEL Le Chaos, aus „Les Elements“, GYÖRGY LIGETI Streichquartett Nr. 2, LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN Große Fuge B-Dur, u.a.
Zwischen den Stücken erklingen improvisierte Zwischenspiele nach Samu Gryllus (*1976): 5 Transitions for Chaos String Quartet (2024).
