PHACE | Performance installation
Musical theatre | New music | Electronica | Concert | Adults
In 1940, Adolfo Bioy Casares published the novella “Morel’s Invention” at a time when cinemas were springing up all over the world, and with them a new form of human connection – the ability to share emotions, stories and affection with fictional beings – only through images. Our relationship with images has since become so centralised that the boundaries between reality and its representation have started to blur. This confusion, exacerbated by digital networks and virtual existence, raises a question that Casares himself posed: Can you fall in love with a picture? Together with PHACE, Polish-French composer and multimedia artist Pierre Jodlowski is creating an atmospheric performance installation at Das MuTh that blurs the boundaries of reality.
A production by PHACE & éOle in co-production with Warsaw Autumn, Wien Modern, Osterfestival Tirol, and GRAME – Centre National de Création Musicale.
Commissioned by PHACE and éOle studio de création musicale, with support from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and Sacem.
Veranstalter: PHACE – Ensemble für Neue Musik
