JANGI – RHYTHMEN DES FEUERS (JANGI – RHYTHMS OF FIRE)

The Jangi Ensemble is synonymous with musical diversity, cultural connection and an unmistakable sound that is steeped in tradition, but with a clear vision for the future. A combination of traditional Azerbaijani music, mugham, jazz and pop takes centre stage. Under the direction of Mirjavad Jafarov, instruments such as oud, tar and balaban meet modern sound concepts. Three singers enrich the ensemble with polyphonic vocal arrangements and lend the music emotional depth. Jangi creates a sonic bridge between Orient and Occident – virtuosic, authentic and contemporary.

With numerous performances abroad, participation in festivals and international collaborations, Jangi is now also known beyond the borders of Azerbaijan.
