CANTOR’S CONCERT WITH SENIOR CANTOR SHMUEL BARZILAI
and Cantor Netanel Barem from California
Orchestral music | Lieder & singing | Concert | Adults
On 27 November, the Jewish Community of Vienna invites you to one of the musical highlights of the year at Das MuTh in Vienna: the traditional cantor’s concert. Together with guest cantor Netanel Baram from Beverly Hills (California) and accompanied by conductor Mark Kligman (California) and orchestra, senior cantor Shmuel Barzilai presents the high art of Jewish liturgical singing – the chazzanut.
As part of a wonderful concert rich in tradition, the audience has the opportunity to get to know traditional prayers, old Jewish songs, religious melodies from the shtetl and the timeless melodies of the Jewish service in an authentic way.
As the IKG Vienna is currently preparing for the 200th anniversary of the Vienna City Temple, and it is being restored in time for the anniversary, this year’s cantor’s concert will take place in Das MuTh – the concert hall that is home to the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
