KULTURMITTAG (ARTS AT LUNCHTIME)

Music from the 1960s by Elvis, the Beatles, Louis Prima, Dean Martin and Paul Anka – reimagined! With their own translations that stay true to the originals, the songs gain a fresh twist while making the lyrics and emotions come vividly to life. “It’s Now or Never” becomes “Jetzt oder nie”, Louis Prima’s”Gigolo” becomes “A wüda Bua”, instead of “Jackson” it’s off to “Sankt Pölten” with Johnny Cash, and “La vie en rose” celebrates the good life. The Schrägen von der Wiesn also perform Viennese music, from Bronner’s “Gschupftem Ferdl” and Hodina’s “Kirschen” to Danzer and Heller’s “Zigeina” – charming, offbeat and with tongue firmly in cheek.
