KULTURMITTAG (ARTS AT LUNCHTIME)

“Fusion Trio” (Naomi Walcher on flute, Christian Walcher on bassoon, and Margaret Kim on piano) present a programme of music characterised by strong emotional content and an impressive sweep of tonal colour. The powerful, romantic sounds of Carl Maria von Weber sweep us away into an idyllic landscape, while Poulenc’s sweet and sparkling melodies allow us to leave the real world behind for just a little while. The trio ventures into jazz territory with music by the American pianist Chick Corea – an unfamiliar environment for this group of instruments – and ends with “Now for something different” by J. M. Staud, a piece which dissolves all the boundaries between old and new, classical and jazz.
