LA FEMME C’EST MOI (THE WOMAN IS ME)
Elisabeth Kulman and "The best band in the world" invite you to a film premiere
Lieder & singing | Classic | Film | Adults
“La femme c’est moi” is Elisabeth Kulman’s cinematic farewell gift to the admirers of the great Austrian singer. Before she retired from the stage in 2021, she documented the high point of her artistic career in a moving film.
With her daring musical collage spanning opera, classical lieder, musicals, pop and jazz, she showcases her diverse talent brilliantly. Her eight dedicated musicians – each a stand-out performer in their own right – and the sophisticated arrangements by Tscho Theissing guarantee thrilling interpretations of the highest calibre.
This nuanced and witty documentary by filmmaker Nikolas Lappas follows the distinguished ensemble over three eventful days of music recordings at the Lisztzentrum Raiding. Intimate camera angles capture profound emotions. The charisma of the opera revolutionary radiates in all its dimensions. The audience experiences the artists up close, as though they are right at the heart of her circle.
The late principal cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic, Franz Bartolomey, who passed away unexpectedly, is commemorated one last time through a deeply moving tribute.
