“Here is magic. In the realm of a spell, the common word seems lifted up above… and yet is really like the call of the male, who calls for the invisible female dove!” This is how Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem “Magic” ends. Rilke, a poet who is still greatly admired today, knew how to put feelings into words like no other. Twin brothers Alexander and Konstantin Wladigeroff delve into his poetic universe, offering a musical homage through their original compositions and arrangements for piano, clarinet, trumpet, flugelhorn and vocals. Gerti Drassl, renowned for her work in film and television, captivates the audience with a reading of selected poems.
