MARTIN LISTABARTH TRIO

The Martin Listabarth Trio presents its new album “In Her Footsteps” at Das MuTh. The programme was inspired by the Viennese world traveller Ida Pfeiffer, who circumnavigated the globe alone twice in the 19th century. Her thrilling travelogues form the starting point for a musical journey of discovery full of curiosity and a thirst for adventure. The music combines narrative jazz with influences from classical music and pop. In sensitive, powerful and sometimes tongue-in-cheek compositions, Listabarth tells of early dreams, forbidden love, caravans through the desert, encounters with foreign cultures and an insatiable inner urge to discover the world. This is about more than just historical anecdotes – Ida Pfeiffer’s life touches on universal themes such as new beginnings, curiosity, disappointment, courage and overcoming boundaries.
