MINETTI QUARTET
Mozart - Tröndle - Kreisler
Chamber music | New music | Classic | Concert | Adults
A world-famous masterpiece, a world premiere, and a gem amongst string quartets which the world seems to have forgotten. KV 590 in F Major is the last string quartet that Mozart composed. Most unusually for Mozart, he spent a long time polishing the piece, eventually creating one of the most profound and fascinating works in the genre. The Minetti Quartet continue their highly successful collaboration with composer Ángela Tröndle with the premiere performance of her second String Quartet. This is followed by Fritz Kreisler’s String Quartet in A Minor. Written in tribute to all the composers and violin virtuosi of Vienna, this early 20th century masterpiece is played so rarely nowadays that this performance also has something of a premiere feel.
